Every once in awhile, I get it right....

Ok, so I know Christmas has come and gone, BUT I am so proud of a certain gift that I got my hubby that I'm just dying to share it with you!

I don't know about you; but I find it EXTREMELY hard to buy gifts for my husband. He hates when I spend money on him and when I do, according to him, it's either too much money, not the right thing, or it's something that goes in a desk drawer never to be seen again. I can't tell you the amount of gifts I've bought him that have been returned and or exchanged. Hands down, I stink at buying my husband gifts.

So at about this time last year I had had enough and decided to keep a running log on my computer of things Tyler mentioned throughout the year he wanted, but never bought for himself. This was as basic as LL Bean Slippers to as big as a Nail Gun; every time he mentioned something I made a note! So come this Christmas I had about twenty items I could chose from; it was AWESOME!

Hands down, the item I believe he loved the most was a leather recipe journal with his monogram on it (of course!). To understand why this is such a perfect gift, I've gotta give you a little background-- His Pepere (French for Grandfather) was a Baker and hand wrote all of his recipes into a notebook; which he passed down to his sons. His brother Conrad has also started doing this as well. In the recipe book, they write all of their favorite recipes with the intention of one day passing it down to their children and so on. Well, to say that I went "gaga" for this idea is an understatement! Last Christmas when Tyler saw his brother's he was dying to start his own, but like most random ideas, it got lost in a year full of crazy! But AHA! Thanks to my sneaky note keeping, it was under the tree for my sweet hubby this Christmas!

He's been writing and writing, and writing in it for about two weeks; so, at this point, I think it's safe to say I knocked this Christmas right out of the park! I'm pretty proud of myself if I do say so myself!

In other news, in keeping with my New Year's Resolutions, hubby and I are taking a beginners wine class tomorrow afternoon at a local winery for a day date! I'm pretty excited!

How about you, what are you up to this weekend???

We're back AND exhausted!!!

Christmas has come and gone! Geeesh, it flew! Lesson learned, next year we will not pack as much into such an already busy month! Holy smokes, this Mama needs a vacation!!! Speaking of vacation, here are a few pictures of our trip to Florida. This time around it was pretty family oriented; we went out for dinner one night with friends, but other than that it was pretty low key. And let's be honest with an eight month old, it's pretty hard to have anything other than low key! We're EXHAUSTED!

Ford got lots of cuddle time with his Grandparents!

And tried lasagna (blended of course!) for the first time! He kinda made a mess :) Hence the very quick bath in the sink!!! Holy Mess!!!

We ate lots and lots and of course made the traditional French Meat Pies

And Ford, of course, in true crawler fashion, found trouble where ever he went :)
(Bust gosh, he's just so darn cute!)

It was a super fun trip, but now it's back to reality!!!

This Mama is getting her IMPACTED wisdom teeth out on Tuesday! Hopefully, cross your fingers, I recover quickly and don't have those pesky dry sockets which everyone seems to have a story about! ARGH! I hate the dentist!!!!

Have a fabulous New Years!

Mommy's Wish List......

Dear Santa,

I'm pretty sure you know about all the small stuff I would like this Christmas, like pjs, L.L bean tote bags, automatic wine opener, coffee table books, workout clothes, a new robe, and maybe a new collar for Tana, but in case you were wondering what would throw me over the moon in excitement here are a few ideas. Of course, I don't want everything on my list, but wanted to give you a bunch of ideas.... just in case you were wondering......

I really want to finish my collection of barware from William Sonoma,
in case they ever decide to discontinue it. I still need the following:

herehere, or here
I'm trying really hard to eat healthy and work out six days a week! As you may know, my 2012 goal is to run the San Antonio Rock N' Roll Marathon, this heart rate monitor would be greeeeaaaaat!

I'd really like this frame, but in a key lime color, in the largest frame they have (30x40) for above our mantel. I think it would be absolutely adorbs. Please disregard the price tag. Santa, this could be an heirloom...... (heeheee)

I am in love with this beautiful monogram necklace; however, my husband thinks it'll make me look like Puff Daddy ( you know- the rapper), but I don't care. I think it's cute!

I'd really like this Silhouette Machine. Why? Because then I could label everything, not to mention make cute cards, etc. And let's be honest I'm a crafting freak.

And this North Face, well, I've wanted one since I can remember and now that I'm a Mom and in and out of the house as much as I am, this would be a great jacket to throw on as I race out the door- just saying :)

And finally, Light Brown Revas..... why do I need this expensive of a shoe.... honestly...... well honestly, no reason at all, other than I realllllllyyyyyy like them.....did I mention I've been REALLY good this year?????!?!?!?!

And just because....

Like I said Santa, you've always been reallllyyy good to me, but I just wanted
to give you a few ideas, in case you found yourself stumped :)
