Ford eats.... or doesn't.....

Ford has this new habit of spitting his food EVERYWHERE when he eats. Dad came home from work early today and Mom thought it would be a good idea if Dad could enjoy his son's new found talent too!

Needless to say, it's pretty funny..... After he finally finished this is what my sweet boy looked like.... I probably should've taken photos of Dad too, considering he was covered from head-to-toe in turkey and peas!

Crossing my fingers that this "spitting the food" thing is just a phase!
Happy Friday!

Back from Vegas!!!

So, of course.... I forgot my camera! Argh, but here are a few pics that some of my lovely friends snapped along the way! All and all, so much fun, but MAN- I need a vacation from my vacation :)

What I'm working on today....

Lots and lots of fresh organic baby food for Senor Ford!!! I heart my Vitamix!

My baby's gotta eat while we're away :)

Ford is Five Months!

So, I'm just going to come right out and say it.... I STINK at posting these on time! Hah, so now that we've got that out of the way---- Ford officially is 5 months and a week and a half now, but hey.... time flies when your having fun and GEEZ that's what this last month has been- FUN!

Ford,
Wow, what a busy month you've had! Not only have you made your way through rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, and all your yellow veggies but you've popped out two TEETH!!! Yes, that's right your five months old and you have  your two bottom front teeth!!!! They are taking forever to come all the way in, but the point is, they're out and they HURT when you gnaw on your parents fingers!!! Ouch!

You are SO close to crawling!! You roll over and then try desperately to flail yourself to move! The other day we noticed that you've figured out how to lift your bum off the ground and stand on your legs with your arms in the crawling position.... it's hilarious!

Your also really getting into your toys. You've learned to hold them, eat them, and throw them. You've launched several  HARD toys right at your Mom! Which has me thinking, why the heck aren't these dang things softer, they hurt!!!

You've now been in the pool several times and while we were in Florida we even took you to the beach for your first " Beach Trip!" You loved it!!! Grandpa got you a pretty cool float which actually let you float alone ( obviously Mommy was still holding it) but I'm convinced you loved the feel of independence! I'm pretty certain that the more you grow, the more independent you'll become considering you seem to demostrate that stubborn streak your Dad and I BOTH have... uhoh :).

In short, this has been my FAVORITE month so far and has me thinking this Mommy stuff isn't SO hard after all. Love you my little one :).

And we're back....

Well, needless to say as usual we need a vacation from our vacation! Yikes. We were slammed, but hey I guess that's what happens when you vacation in your hometown (when you've moved across the country). We had a good time, but didn't get to see nearly all the people we wish we had seen! It just gets nuts and it's really hard to make everyone feel like they've spent quality time with you etc. but hey, such is life and I'm glad we got to do what we did get to do! So, with that said a few pictures of the highlights..... (keep in mind that I was THE WORST picture taker ever, so even after ten days, I may have taken 8 pictures! None of my husband mind you.... bad, bad wife/mother, MUST work on this..... )

Ford got some love from Grandpa
And played Super Man with Grammie
Went to the beach for the first time
And figured out how to sit in a beach chair all by myself
Got a few baths from Meme and Pepe
And has some cuddle time with Meme
And Mom.... she had some much needed dance parties with friends
And yes ladies, I know your going to punch me for posting these heehee.....

Now, it's back to reality..... Well, for three days till T and I head to Vegas..... what a CRAZY month!!!

Feels Just Like a Love Song.....

It's always been inside my head.
Sunlit hardwood floors and feather beds.
And children laughin' runnin' up and down the stairs.
It would be heaven without goin' nowhere.
And when a dream starts comin' true.
It feels like destiny, like I already knew.
Like you were meant for me, and me for you.
And it feels like I’m right where I’ve always belonged.
And it feels just like a love song.

I met my husband 5 years ago today at a "Full Moon Party" in St. Petersburg......
Hard to believe in five short years we've gone from

Newly Dating

to

Newly Engaged

to

Newly Married

to

Newly Parents

Like most couples, we've certainly had our fair share of ups, downs, and all arounds. But, through it all, there's no one on this Earth that I'd rather ride this CRAZY roller coaster with then my best friend, my heart..... you.

Love you and our sweet little family.

Apron Mania!

My niece Kate turned ten last week, two WHOLE hands! Yikes! Hard to believe I met that sweet little girl when she was only five...... insane how time flies! Anyway her Mama is hosting a "Cake Boss" themed birthday for little Miss Kate and she asked me to monogram some sweet little aprons for favors. So of course, being the loving Aunt I am, I got to work! She's using the colors pink, aqua, and zebra print for decorations, so I monogramed the names in pink or aqua and then added a zebra ribbon... What do you think? These are cute, huh?

Yikes, busy, busy! Now I've gotta pack! St. Pete in T-2 days!
YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!

A weekend of firsts.....

Hey Ya'll, hope you had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! We sure did!!!

Friday we had an "at home" date night and made Fettucini Alfredo and drank some wine, then Saturday Ford ate his first "real" food, (which I made!) -- yellow squash. He loved it! Yummmmy!

Then Saturday night we had some friends over for Pizza, Martinis and Farkle (my new go to game), so fun! Sunday we needed a little recovery time, so we laid low and rested. Monday we took Senor Ford to the Zoo for his very first time! It was a ton of fun; although I think Ford was more interested in all the commotion around him rather than the animals, but hey, it was an experience and we loved it!!

And no, I'm not afraid of the sun, but Ford's a month shy of being able to wear sunscreen so we needed a little shade so we could make it through the afternoon, so excuse the dorky umbrella!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Monday

Nursery Tree Reveal!!!

There was this one wall in Ford's room that I absolutely could not figure out what to do with, finally with a little inspiration from The Giving Tree, I decided that my baby needed a tree in his room. So I chalked this baby out and got to work.....

Finally, about a month and a half later ( I'm a new Mom people!) I've finished it and if I do say so myself--- it looks pretty darn good!

In this picture you can also see my homemade curtains (love!) and my cheapo homemade basket light (I still need to hide the wire in the corner- work in progress people!) This weekend we will hopefully finish the nursery with one more project that my buddy Miss Megan suggested. So hopefully by next week I will be ready to do the WHOLE nursery reveal :)

Linking up with Remodelaholic for her Friday Remodelaholic Party, check out everyone else's cool ideas!

Mama's Boy.....

O.k. so if I haven't made it clear enough, I am simply smitten with my little one!

The past few weeks have been glorious. I think it's safe to say we may have turned a corner in the cranky baby department. We finally figured out all of Ford's health issues.... YAY! Which makes for one happy baby (and Mama)!

After all the diagnoses-- immature digestive tract, acid reflux, colic etc..... we've finally found the golden ticket..... it was a dang milk allergy! It's amazing how happy your child can be when your not feeding them something that makes them feel yucky! So after the initial guilt of not figuring this out sooner we are all settling in and truly beginning to relish in our new life as three (well four if you count Tana).

Ford is SO close to crawling. I took a video of it yesterday but for some darn reason cannot get it to upload so while I work on technical difficulties here's two pictures of him working hard to master this skill! I know he's young people, but wait til you see the video- SO CLOSE!!!

In other news, I came out of my bedroom this morning to find this....

Ford and Dad have started to cuddle every morning before Dad heads to work. Dad catches up on the news and Ford snuggles with his Papa. So cute.....

Haha, but ten minutes later, I came out again to this....

Ford can totally touch the ground, however he's laid back lounging watching Fox & Friends. As Tyler has said many times....."start 'em young..." Hah, as if Ford had any chance of forming his own political views :). We heart Fox.

(PS- I ABSOLUTELY hate the color of this room, our painter FINALLY comes next week and then let the home decorating begin!!)

Happy Thursday!
