Mommy's Wish List......

Dear Santa,

I'm pretty sure you know about all the small stuff I would like this Christmas, like pjs, L.L bean tote bags, automatic wine opener, coffee table books, workout clothes, a new robe, and maybe a new collar for Tana, but in case you were wondering what would throw me over the moon in excitement here are a few ideas. Of course, I don't want everything on my list, but wanted to give you a bunch of ideas.... just in case you were wondering......

I really want to finish my collection of barware from William Sonoma,
in case they ever decide to discontinue it. I still need the following:

herehere, or here
I'm trying really hard to eat healthy and work out six days a week! As you may know, my 2012 goal is to run the San Antonio Rock N' Roll Marathon, this heart rate monitor would be greeeeaaaaat!

via

I'd really like this frame, but in a key lime color, in the largest frame they have (30x40) for above our mantel. I think it would be absolutely adorbs. Please disregard the price tag. Santa, this could be an heirloom...... (heeheee)

I am in love with this beautiful monogram necklace; however, my husband thinks it'll make me look like Puff Daddy ( you know- the rapper), but I don't care. I think it's cute!
via

I'd really like this Silhouette Machine. Why? Because then I could label everything, not to mention make cute cards, etc. And let's be honest I'm a crafting freak.

via

And this North Face, well, I've wanted one since I can remember and now that I'm a Mom and in and out of the house as much as I am, this would be a great jacket to throw on as I race out the door- just saying :)

via
And finally, Light Brown Revas..... why do I need this expensive of a shoe.... honestly...... well honestly, no reason at all, other than I realllllllyyyyyy like them.....did I mention I've been REALLY good this year?????!?!?!?!

And just because....
via

Like I said Santa, you've always been reallllyyy good to me, but I just wanted
to give you a few ideas, in case you found yourself stumped :)

We've got eight adults and six kiddos this year! Mama's going to be cooking her little heart out! But quite honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way- CAN'T WAIT!!!!

It works with burlap too!

You remember my brief tutorial on a felt halloween wreath, right? Well, the cool thing, it works with burlap to! Introducing my latest creation.....

Easy Peasy, Literally, took me all of fifteen minutes and in my humble (or not so humble) opinion.... It's  simply adorbs.

Happy Friday!

Because sometimes my Dad just gets it.

So, my Dad's going to read this and probably roll his eyes and then make a joke to my Mom, like.... "What? she couldn't think of anything else to write about???" because that's how my Dad is.... but seriously, my Dad is pretty great. Every once in awhile, he does unexpected things that either make my day or just make me smile. He's just like that.

For instance, when Ford was first born and Tyler was gone all the time for work and we were struggling with what was wrong with my super inconsolable, non-napping child (dang milk allergy). I received a random bouquet of flowers with a card that read.....

Notice, he doesn't say I Love You, or Love Dad. Because that's just not his style. He's kinda "bashful." He definitely gets that from his Dad (my Grandpa).

So, where am I going with this....

Well this morning my Dad made me smile, actually he made me laugh....really hard. Tyler and I are going home to Florida for the holidays and as excited as I am, I'm also tense. We've got a lot of family in Florida to see and it kind of becomes a juggling act trying to see everyone and make people feel like they got quality time with us. Now with Ford, I feel like the stakes are higher and it's not as easy to juggle. Let's face it, when your a parent, the kid's schedule kinda becomes your life. And no, I'm not a crazy "everything must stop, because my child is napping," kinda Mom, but when my kid's tired, he's tired. He doesn't want to be played with, he wants to sleep and gosh darnit' he's going to tell you about it. So anyway, I digress... So the holidays, there stressful and like any normal woman, I think about the things I cannot control and I worry. I get lost in my thoughts as I try to hammer out a "schedule" of where we'll be and when. Now, all this said, I really haven't said a peep about my "stress level," til right now. So imagine, my surprise when in my inbox this morning I find an email from my Dad, with no words, just an attachment. I click and am greeted by the title, "What if We went Into the Holidays Expecting to Actually Enjoy Them?"

I laughed out loud, I laughed really hard. My Dad had called me out. And it just made me die.....
Plus the article's pretty darn funny and truthful!

So Dad because I love you and because that email made my day, I promise to try my hardest to not have preconceived notions of how the Holidays will go. Er..... or at least I'll try, promise :)

If ya'll are interested in the article, click here, I swear it's roll on the ground kinda funny and yes even a little insightful.

Happy Thursday!

TGIF!

It's Friday! Wuhooo!!! We made it folks!

It's 33 degrees this morning in SA. What I'm loving? Waking up, snuggly in my pj's with my loves, sipping on coffee and feeling the warmth of this.....

(sorry for the poor iphone photo)

When we bought the house my hubby and I agreed that we would DEFINITELY convert the fireplace from gas back to the original state. We just love the crackling of a real fire, the smell etc. However, when we're able to just wake up in the a.m. and say "Hey, let's have a fire" and snap, turn it on..... Hmmmm, maybe this isn't so bad. Convenience or nostalgia, hmmmmm :)

Anywho, we've got a big weekend planned! Today we're taking Ford's six month photos and then spending the day as a family. Then T is taking me out for an early birthday dinner and then tomorrow we're attending our first Wurstfest, which I'm told is a Texas Institution. Can't wait!

Hope you all have terrific weekends!

Ford you are six months (and Mom is LATE as usual!)

Wow, I absolutely stink at posting these on time! Any who... my baby is six months.....well now, actually he's six and a half months..... gosh it just goes by so fast! Wasn't I pregnant with him like yesterday???? But for blogging sake, today we are celebrating Ford's six month milestones!

Ford- You are such a cutie!!! You have such a big personality for such a little guy. Mommy and Daddy already know we're going to have our hands full- you are so stubborn. You grab at everything and when we pull it away, you go for it again, and again, and again. You are relentless!

You are also one large baby! At six months old you are already wearing mostly nine/twelve month clothing. In your six month picture your wearing a twelve month onesie, holy smokes child- STOP GROWING! Weighing in at twenty-two pounds you are one heavy kiddo! Mom is definitely getting a workout. No flabby arms here.

You are also discovering new foods daily. Your favorites so far are bananas and sweet potatoes. You also love mint! If I add fresh mint to any of your green veggies, you gobble them up!!! As for aversions, you are not such a fan of avocado. I'm not sure if it's the flavor or the consistency but when we try to get you to take a few bites the faces you make are priceless (I know Mommy and Daddy can be evil sometimes:)).

Finally, let's talk about crawling. Kiddo you are SO there! You now get up on all fours and rock back and fourth, but still no forward movement. I said this last post, but geeez- you are SO there!! It's gotta be any day now!!! Definitely by Turkey Day so you can chase after your cousins. One thing I will mention is how much we've worked with you on this.... You think it's hysterical when I get down on all fours and try to mimic crawling. I swear, your just putting it off so you can laugh a few more days at your silly Mama.

Little, you are becoming such a handful, but gosh, such a joy! We love watching you grow and discover new things (so far, this is my favorite stage!). You are a constant reminder of just how sweet, this life truly is.

We love you.

Every time You Go Away.......

So call me strange, but, for me, the movie Trains, Plains and Automobiles staring John Candy and Steve Martin screams "It's time for the holidays!"

I grew up watching this movie. It's probably the only movie that I can actually be as cool as my husband and recite lines to. Yes, I'm  nerd like that. But more importantly and well, let's be honest, equally if not more nerdy, is the fact that I grew up dreaming of being this woman at the end of the movie (Steve Martin's wife)...

I love when Steve Martin opens the door (fast forward to the 3 minute mark) and he's greeted by his adorable children, but then, then the wife walks down the stairs and the look they give one another..... it immediately became my definition of happily ever after. Love it.

I love the holidays. I love spending time with my family and my extended family. It's just such a nice, special time of year and EVEN more special this year since we'll be spending it with our sweet little boy!

Yay for the beginning of the Holiday Season!

Attack!

The Deneault household has been attacked!

Well, if you follow me on facebook, you know that Ford and I have been fighting killer colds (no fun!) but to make matters EVEN worse, our weekend took an unexpected turn when Dad came home early  from a class Saturday afternoon with a twenty-four hour bug. Yuck, gross, disgusting! Poor guy couldn't keep anything down and basically spent the next twenty-four hours keeled over.

I did my best to keep Ford away from Tyler and when Ford was entertained tend to my ailing hubby. I made sure to wash my hands a million times, pop an emergen-c, etc. but to no avail because on Sunday morning sure enough, I had caught the bug. ARGH! Luckily Tyler was feeling a little better and he helped with poor Ford who had no clue what the heck was going on.

Today we're both feeling better and PRAYING Ford doesn't catch this awful bug!!! On the bright side, despite our aching tummies we did get to catch up on some movies we'd been wanting to see....

Crazy Stupid Love was the funniest best "sort of" romantic comedy I have seen in a longtime. I could not stop laughing. It's hilarious and wonderful. Ryan Gosling and Steve Carrell are awesome! I highly recommend seeing this movie. Tyler even thought it was funny!!!

Bad Teacher, not so much. It wasn't funny AT ALL. It was weird, awkward, and at times thoroughly raunchy. Not a fan.

Anyways, hope ya'll had better weekends than we did!!!

I Wish You Out of the Woods.....

I've been listening to I Wish You Out of the Woods, by Nickle Creek all afternoon as I've been "attempting" to clean up the house. I love this song because it reminds me of our wedding day and all the raw emotions I was feeling the day I wed my husband.

My husband, our families, his groomsmen, and my bridesmaids, all walked out to this song. I picked it because when I first met Tyler this song captured exactly how I felt, how sometime I still feel. Sometimes, I just need to pinch myself....... I still can't believe he picked me.

I remember when he popped the question, just wanting to say, "Are you sure?!?? Are you sure you want to marry me???" I just couldn't believe this perfect man wanted imperfect me. It felt like a dream. I kept waiting for him to realize the mistake he'd made, but about a "bajillion" experiences later, here we are, still together......

Even now, three years married, five years together, sometimes I have to pinch myself. "Really? I got to marry, him? It just seems surreal. Five years later, I've realized he's anything BUT perfect (thank goodness!), but strangely, still feel like I've won the lottery.

I Wish You Out of the Woods.....

I wish you out of the woods
And into a picture with me
I wish you over the moon
Come out of the question and be

If this is gonna run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head

I roller coaster for you
Time out of mind must be heavenly
It's all enchanted and wild
Just like my heart said it was gonna be

If this is gonna run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head

I wish you out of the woods
And into the picture with me
I wish you over the moon
Come out of the question and be

If this is gonna run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head

If this is gonna run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head

If this is gonna run 'round in my head
I might as well be dreaming
Run 'round in my head

Happy Weekend!

Have you ever...

Had an Organic Honeycrisp Apple?

If not, run to the grocery store and try one. You can thank me later. Absolutely DELISH! I like mine with crunchy peanut butter or a piece of muenster cheese. So good!

Happy Thursday!

Just another Manic Monday (uhhh...er.... Wednesday??)

Wow.....

As I'm sure most of you can agree, November and December are two CRAZY months! We've got a lot going on in the Deneault household and right now my brain is abuzz with what to do and when to do what! Yikes! So here's a totally random, totally unexplainable, BRAIN DUMP from the mind of yours truly...

1. Ford needs a few new toys, he's not quite ready for stand up and walk or big kid toys, but he's super bored of his excersaucer, crawl ball and the toys he plays with on his blanket. No clue what he'd find interesting at this stage. Suggestions?

2. I desperately need new boots. Darn you Tory Burch for having the most adorable boot EVER and being SOLD OUT (Selma, Almond Color)....not fair..... Nothing compares.....Grr, still on the hunt......

3. I'm absolutely loving this "cold" spell we've been having in SA. And by cold I mean in the 70's. Regardless, I'll take it- I was so sick of the heat!

4. We have a neighborhood garage sale this weekend. Is it bad that I'd literally like to dump the contents of our house on my driveway and sell it all!? Argh, we've got to get organized! Tyler will be working again, so Ford and I will be selling our wears on our own. First garage sale, wish us luck.

5. We're hosting Thanksgiving this year in SA, gotta get crackin'. I haven't done a thing and I'm starting to feel like I'm behind the eight ball! T- 20 days until the relatives start to arrive.

6. I think Ford is starting to have a little separation anxiety and I'm not going to lie, it's starting to get on my nerves just a bit. He'll be playing perfectly well all by himself and the second he sees me, he starts to cry, which then turns into a wail. He doesn't do this with Tyler at all. Needless to say it makes getting things done in the house "hard," considering our living room is smack dab in the center, meaning every time I need to go somewhere, I have to crawl behind the couch to get from point a to point b. My knees do not like my son right now.

7. Tyler and my anniversary was yesterday. He was out of town on business. This is the second year I've spent our anniversary alone, boo. Ladies who aren't married, listen to me, make your first anniversary awesome (we went to NYC) bc life kinda gets in the way after that! Anniversary Schmaniversary.......Geez!

8. I've been trying to sew (monogram & applique onesies) a ton lately...... not really working out, but trying...... My goal is to start an etsy business in January, stay tuned for details......

9. Countdown to Girls Getaway in NYC is on!!! December 8th you can NOT come fast enough! This Mama needs a break!!!! A break from baby, a break from husband, a break from the dog, and just a break period. I am drained. Can't wait to cut lose with my ladies!!

10.  Hmmm, I need one more thing to brain dump & blog bc my OCD won't let me end on an odd number, sooooo...... hmmm.... I've been blogging for a whole year, can you believe it? I think blogging is the longest hobby I've ever stuck with! Go me (heehee, kidding, sorta :))

Hope your all having a happy Wednesday!

Halloween Wrap Up

Halloween was AWESOME! This was the first time Tyler and I have ever lived in a neighborhood that actually had trick-or-treaters so we decided to go all out! Stealing a St. Pete tradition from our friends the Kramers we decided to forgo traditional Halloween Candy and serve.... COTTON CANDY!

I'm pretty sure it was a big hit! Poor Ford didn't make it up late enough to even see one trick-or-treater BUT we did get him all dressed up for the ocassion earlier in the evening, here are a few cute pics of Ford our Fly Fisherman.

We couldn't quite grasp the fishing pole and unfortunately Dad got smacked in the face....

But then he felt bad, so he tried to apologize....

Hope you all had as much fun as we did!
